Who We Are
The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. (NCNW) is a voluntary non-profit membership organization with the primary goal of helping women improve the quality of life for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Through its national affiliate organizations and community-based sections, NCNW has an outreach to over four million women dedicated to addressing issues of human welfare and rights.
Our Mission
Founded in 1935, NCNW’s mission is to lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities.
This mission is fulfilled through research, advocacy, and community-based programs focused on health, education, and economic empowerment.
